The short version: Mint Assistant only processes data you explicitly interact with. We don't track your browsing, sell your data, or collect anything in the background. Everything goes through your authenticated enrollmint.com account.
Mint Assistant is the official Chrome extension for enrollmint.com, a benefits enrollment platform for insurance brokers. It provides a side panel chat assistant that helps brokers manage enrollments, scan client emails, upload documents, and track tasks.
Authentication tokens. When you sign in, the extension stores a short-lived access token and refresh token in Chrome's local storage (chrome.storage.local). These are used to authenticate API requests to enrollmint.com. They never leave your browser except to communicate with our server.
Messages you send. Text you type into the chat is sent to the enrollmint.com API for processing. Chat messages are associated with your broker account.
Page content you choose to share. When you click "Scan Email", use the "Send to Mint AI" context menu, or ask the assistant to explore a website, the extension reads content from the active tab and sends it to the enrollmint.com API. This only happens when you initiate it. The extension does not read or transmit page content on its own. Site exploration is user-triggered and data is processed solely to provide summaries and account setup assistance to the broker.
Files you upload. Files you attach through the chat input are uploaded to the enrollmint.com server and processed as part of your broker workflow.
Text you select. When you right-click selected text and choose "Send to Mint AI", that selected text is sent to the enrollmint.com API as a clip for context in your chat.
sidePanel — Required to display the Mint Assistant chat in Chrome's side panel.
activeTab — Allows the extension to read the current tab's content when you click "Scan Email" or share page context. Only activates on user action.
scripting — Used to inject the content script that extracts email content and page text when you request a scan.
storage — Stores your authentication tokens locally so you stay signed in between browser sessions.
tabs — Allows the extension to read the current tab's URL and title for page context sharing.
contextMenus — Adds the "Send to Mint AI" right-click option for clipping selected text.
host_permissions (all URLs) — The extension needs to read page content from any site because brokers receive client emails across various email providers (Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, etc.) and need to scan them regardless of domain. Content is only read when the user initiates a scan or shares context.
All data is transmitted to and stored on the enrollmint.com server infrastructure hosted in the United States. Data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS. Authentication tokens stored locally in Chrome are accessible only to this extension.
The extension communicates exclusively with the enrollmint.com API. We do not send your data to any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The AI chat functionality is processed server-side through our own API. Your data is not used to train any AI models.
Chat messages and uploaded files are retained as part of your enrollmint.com broker account. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us. Authentication tokens expire automatically (access tokens after 15 minutes, refresh tokens after 7 days).
Mint Assistant is a professional tool for licensed insurance brokers. It is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
